Dating Tips from the 90s

This is an amusing piece of video found on Everything Is Terrible, a wonderful blogsite that composites horrible 80s and 90s VHS clips and shares them through the wonder that is modern technology. Ah, MA in the internet, how wonderful you've been to me.

This video, The Art of Meeting Men, covers a lot of ground and have some great tips about how to catch a guy. Here's some of my favorite:

"Some good conversational pieces of include:
A sports jersey.
A Small stuffed animal.
A T-shirt with a slogan."

Good lord, what type of men is that going to attract? 13 year old boys?

"Staring is one of the most powerful ways to let a man know that you're interested."

I'm not sure if staring is the word they want to use. Perhaps the look, look away, look back and smile technique is better. Hmmm maybe I need to make my own video...

"80% of men have been shy at one point in their lives."

Oh really? Only at one point in their lives? That reminds me about the statistic that 90% of men masturbate. I think in both cases 100% is the real answer.

So once again a woman is encouraged to make the first move, after spending all her extra money on making herself beautiful, smart and interesting she still has to research sports teams, cars and make the first move. Hmph.
