Warning this posting contains some woo-woo thoughts that may make you think I'm a bit of a flake but ... you should have known that already.
I've been noticing myself stuck in a lot of negative tape loops. Thinking I'm ugly, I'm stupid, not good enough, never going to amount to anything. I'm far too old to be thinking way and it's got to stop because none of it is true. But sometimes it's hard not to think it, I don't deep down believe it but the more I think it ... the closer I come to actually believing its truthiness.
I snapped out of my overheated London negative tape loop daze today when I came across someone's blog post today that had a quote my Father had originally emailed to me as a scan of a Starbucks cup.
“The Way I See it #17 - The world at the seams with people ready to tell you you’re not good enough. On occasion, some may be correct. But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out; pursue any goal. Don’t take it personally when they say “no” - they may not be smart enough to say “yes.” Keith Olbermann
Now I've got to go out there and start asking for what it is I want.
